Pmngt-001 –  project management new generation thinking.

New generation thinking addresses project management’s weaknesses: the root causes of project management’s current, sad but mostly deserved reputation.

Old thinking is supplier oriented 🙁 – We must not lose its value and strengths but we must also recognize that the reputation of the projects community is that success is a rarity worthy of comment in surprised tones of wonder.

New generation thinking focuses on the needs of the customer who is investing. #PMNGT adds a tool-set lacking from the supplier’s world-view: tools that give the means to explore objectives and define the value before change starts and to realize benefits post-project.

Either we must redefine the word ‘project’ to be the whole-of-change journey or we must find a term that relegates ‘project’ to be just that subset element of the whole that is the “temporary organisation structure whose purpose is (merely) creation of ‘deliverables'”.
