Three Frameworks

Three Frameworks

#pm_ngt integrates best practice thinking from:

  1. The Guide to The Project Management Body of Knowledge – PMBoK Guide®
  2. Projects In Controlled Environments – PRINCE2®
  3. Dimension Four®

D4 gives us tools to express required future states in the board-room speak, to link explicitly and trace-able to mission and strategy and to calculate value. D4′s expression of change is in the form needed to delegate from strategic to operational layers. D4 makes clear the why and how for the mindset that accepts escalation of required decisions and the vision to carry change focussed action through the time-frames from idea to steady-state (new) business as usual

PRINCE2 gives us the control framework for the packaging of work under approved budgets and schedules and the reporting of tracked achievement

PMBoK Guide gives us the tools to define the work that delivers D4′s changes within P2′s control structure, to calculate the costs and durations the establish budgets and schedules and the means to track status of reality versus expectation

All three frameworks are useful to improving the probability of sucess but none is individually sufficient.
